Bill Wylie

I’ve been married to Sue Wylie since college. We have two adult children and three grandchildren. We owned a condo in Angel Fire for 6 years in the early 2000’s. We have owned our house in Angel Fire for almost five years and live here part-time. We are active local church members in Angel Fire. Our other residence is in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
I have formal education and licensure in engineering as well as a graduate degree in finance. I’ve held senior executive management roles in several corporate and non-profit entities.
I have served on the AAFPO Finance Committee since 2023 and will become the Chair on June 1. If I am selected to serve on your AAFPO Board, my top priority is a strong, transparent, and collaborative relationship among AAFPO, the Resort, and the Village, and further, pursuing joint efforts together to benefit the entire community.
I’m appreciative of the opportunity to serve. I would be truly grateful for your support and your vote.
Melisha “Mel” Sales

Melisha “Mel” Sales is a full-time Angel Fire resident and Associate Broker with over 12 years of experience in the community. She specializes in investment properties, second homes, and new construction, giving her a strong understanding of both full-time residents and out-of-state property owners.
Mel and her husband, Evan Sales, are local business owners operating The Blade House, a short-term vacation rental and small event space, and PAR Painting. Evan spent 10 years as the golf professional at Angel Fire Resort before launching his painting business. Together, they work closely on home renovations and property improvement projects, bringing a hands-on perspective to property ownership and long-term value.
Mel is passionate about protecting property rights, improving transparency, and ensuring property owners have a strong, informed voice. She values open communication, practical solutions, and thoughtful growth that preserves what makes Angel Fire special.
Bret Mason

The Mason family purchased our home in Angel Fire in the summer of 2018 after years of exploring mountain communities across the country. We quickly fell in love with its charm, natural beauty, and welcoming spirit, and we believe Angel Fire remains one of the most underappreciated gems in the Rockies.
The priorities in my life are faith, family, community, and career. My amazing wife, Angie, and I have been married for 36 years and are blessed with four grown sons and our adopted daughter, Sophie, who is 17. Many in the community have met Sophie and me with the Angel Fire Pickleball Club. Family time is important to us, and while our sons now live in different states, we make it a priority to stay connected and gather often in Angel Fire.
After earning degrees in Finance and Economics from Baylor, I built a 38-year career as an institutional and high-net-worth wealth advisor. I have worked with pensions, retirement plans, foundations, family offices and individuals to help clarify goals and develop practical financial strategies for success. I believe this disciplined, outcome-based mindset—along with a strong focus on client experience—would be a valuable asset to the AAFPO Board. I also see an opportunity to strengthen collaboration between the Board, membership, and resort leadership while contributing thoughtful, member-informed input on future initiatives.
Our family loves the outdoors and travel, often combining the two. We have been fortunate to travel extensively for personal, business and mission trips. We enjoy skiing, hiking, fly fishing, mountain biking, pickleball, and simply taking in Angel Fire’s sunsets. We are also actively involved in our church, serving in children’s and youth ministries and leading adult small groups.
James Gilchrist

My wife, Gemma, and I have been homeowners in Angel Fire for more than six years, and we feel blessed to make memories here with our four kids. Like many families, we fell in love with Angel Fire because it offers something that is getting harder to find: a true mountain community that is friendly, grounded, welcoming, and an incredible value. For us, Angel Fire is coffee on the deck, summer hikes and bike rides, first ski days, concerts in Frontier Park, and watching our kids grow up with this place as part of their story.
Our connection to Angel Fire has only deepened over time. That is why we recently acquired a local vacation rental and property management business here. We want to care for homes well, serve owners with excellence, support the local team, and help more families experience what makes Angel Fire so incredible. We are committed to investing in the people, homes, and community we love, and I would be honored to serve the broader owner community through a role on the AAFPO Board.
Professionally, I have spent my career leading large, complex organizations through periods of transformation, growth, and operational change. I currently serve as President of ABB Optical Group, leading 1,800+ team members and $1.8B in P&L responsibility. Earlier in my career, I served as a Medical Services Corps officer in the U.S. Air Force, and I hold degrees from the U.S. Air Force Academy and the McCombs School of Business at The University of Texas at Austin. I have also served on boards for public and private companies, industry organizations, and homeowner associations. I believe effective boards should listen well, communicate clearly, ask hard questions, and serve the interests of the people they represent.
If elected to the AAFPO Board, I will focus on protecting property rights and values, improving transparent communication, ensuring strong financial stewardship, advocating constructively with the Resort, and supporting fair, practical covenant and architectural enforcement that preserves the character of Angel Fire while respecting homeowners. Angel Fire is special to our family, and I would be honored to serve this community as we work together to make it even better.
